Dolphin RFID PVT Ltd - a provider of RFID technology and solutions - has earned the distinction of being the first Indian company to join DASH7 Alliance, a coalition of global organizations promoting a standard for wireless sensor networks - through a combination of existing radio frequency identification (RFID) and sensing technologies.

Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology transmits the identity of an object or person wirelessly using radio waves and is primarily used for remotely identifying, tracking and monitoring a product, animal, or person. RFID has immense applications in the field of Asset Tracking , Manufacturing , Supply Chain Management , Retailing , HealthCare, defense, traffic management, product management, Payment Systems , Security and Access Control etc.

As RFID technology evolves and becomes less expensive and all-encompassing, it's likely that companies and RFID vendors will develop many new applications to solve common and unique business problems. RFID serves the same purpose as a bar code or a magnetic strip on the back of a credit card or ATM card namely it provides a unique identification for that object. And, whilst a bar code or magnetic strip must be physically scanned item wise to get the information. RFID tags can be scanned in multiple numbers at the same time to retrieve the identifying information.

DASH7 is a new wireless sensor networking technology that evolved from a combination of existing radio-frequency identification and sensing technologies used in the defense industry. Presently an RFID scanner can read the RFID tag which is 20 feet away. DASH7 technology provides read ranges of 2km or more, ten-year battery life, penetration of clothing, concrete walls, multi-hop, sensor capabilities, and a globally available frequency – 433 MHz.

Products with DASH7 capability built-in or attached to them improve the wireless communications capabilities of a wide range of mobile devices and provide new business opportunities for organizations in a wide range of industries.

DOLPHIN GROUP DEVELOPS UNIQUE RFID SOLUTIONS FOR HOTELS

Dolphin Group, specialist suppliers of security solutions for the hospitality industry, has recently launched a subsidiary – Dolphin RFID Pvt Ltd- to offer cutting-edge UHF RFID solutions to the hospitality sector. Besides hospitality customers, the Dolphin RFID will target customers in healthcare, defence and manufacturing sectors with their newly designed RFID solutions.

As per the company release, the specific solutions offered for the hospitality sector will help hotels to enhance their guest experience and improve the bottom line for the owners. The company with its own middleware and R&D setup has the capability to design custom solutions for the sector.

DOLPHIN RFID is a Keynote Partner at Indian Hospitality Summit

We would like to thank Dolphin RFID for participating in the inaugural India Hospitality Summit on March 24 th - 25 th 2011 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Mumbai .
